Have you been hacked yet? Have they tried? Have you done your best to prevent the next hack-attack?
If someone were to ask me these three questions I’d reply “Yes, Yes, and Yes”! PaulBarrs.com gets on average 30 – 40 user-login hack attempts each day. These are those automated bots that scan the web looking for websites like mine that use a CMS of some sort and try to login with generic details like “Admin” or “webmaster” or “first name” or similar. Hack attempts like these are not only the most common, they are also most preventable.
It’s essential that you have strong passwords to protect yourself and your website. Among the many things that you can do to protect yourself; strong passwords are the essential starting point.
